Krystal is a Puerto Rican actor, singer, dancer from Waltham, MA.
She most recently starred as Anna of Cleves in the Canadian company of SIX: the Musical. She has performed on stages across North America, including a regional tour of Octavio Solis’ Quixote Nuevo. She has had the pleasure of leading shows in many of Greater Boston’s most prestigious stages: starring as Olivia in American Repertory and Company One’s co-production of Miss You Like Hell performed at the Oberon, as the Lion in Wheelock Family Theatre’s Wizard of Oz where she sang King of the Forest in the original key(!!!), and as the Nurse in Trinity Repertory’s co-production Shakespeare en el Verano of Romeo and Juliet.
She has been obsessed with story telling since she can remember. Her passion really lies in using her voice and body as a vessel to tell stories that heal, challenge and embrace the human experience. As a Puerto Rican actress, she strives to add to the canon of what it means to live through the Latinx experience and to redefine stereotypes that come with that. She holds a BFA in Acting from Salem State University.
“Hernandez has success as Olivia, delivering a nicely modulated portrayal that builds persuasively from brooding alienation to active engagement, and culminates in Hernandez’s devastating performance of the title number.”
